Norwalk staff previews flood-resilience survey, Earth Day outreach and training deadline

City staff briefed the Norwalk Conservation Commission on the citywide flood-resilience planning process and several calendar items during the March 24 meeting.
Staff said the city held a listening session and launched an adaptive online survey to gather local input for consultants; the survey is open through April 1. “We launched an online, survey or a poll that is up until April 1,” staff said, and commissioners were asked to forward the link to interested residents.
Staff also reminded members of a required conservation training course. A commissioner asked about the timing and length; staff and members described the course as roughly eight hours and said that, once a participant starts the course, they have 60 days to complete it. The meeting also included a reminder that the Earth Day event on the Green is Saturday, April 25, where the commission will have an outreach table on flood-related topics.
Next steps: staff will continue public outreach for the flood-resilience plan and supply the survey link to commissioners; members were asked to participate in the Earth Day event and to complete required training within the timelines discussed.
