The City of Franklin Beer Board on April 14 unanimously approved a special-event beer permit for Studio 10 Theater Company’s “1 Night Only” at Liberty Hall, scheduled for June 27, 2026.
City licensing staff Jessica Davey told the board the application and inspections are complete and recommended approval. “The application and inspections are complete, so staff is recommending approval,” Davey said. Christina Ledbetter, the box office and development associate for Studio 10, described the event as a June 27 performance with access times from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and a performance running about 6:30–9:30 p.m. She said Suzette’s Catering will provide bartending, Lippman Brothers is donating the alcohol, and the organizers expect about 160 to 400 guests.
Board members asked about age checks and overservice prevention. Alderman Barnhill said the board’s primary concern is verifying patrons are 21 or older, asking organizers to ensure “that you don't serve someone under 21.” Alderman Caesar echoed the point and added that after nine years of staging the event organizers “know how to do it well” and should avoid overserving older patrons.
After brief discussion the board moved, seconded and voted by roll call to approve the permit; the chair and both aldermen voted yes.
The permit approval follows standard staff review and completed inspections; no public comments were offered during the meeting. The event organizer and the city will proceed with the event under the conditions discussed by the board.
