The Franklin Special Board of Education opened its April meeting with community recognitions, honoring a student artist, school resource officers, volunteers, and a nationally recognized teacher.
Chair invited Kevin Townsville to present the student artist of the month: "The FSD student artist of the month is Jessica, whose dream inspired artwork invites viewers into a vibrant, imaginative landscape," Kevin said, describing a lilies‑and‑valley mixed‑media piece. Board members noted Jessica's work will be displayed at the Central Office Gallery and thanked program supporters Chuck Sugg and Sonic Dryman.
The board also recognized school resource officers and supervisors from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, naming deputies who serve elementary and middle schools and acknowledging the county's funding for the positions. A presenter said the officers "play a vital role in keeping our campuses safe" and thanked the Williamson County commissioners and sheriff's office for their support.
Board members and staff then called the district's Top 40 volunteers by school, thanking community members who support classrooms and school programs. Kevin Townsville also introduced Molly Foster, a Franklin Elementary third‑grade teacher selected as a 2026 "extraordinary educator" by Curriculum Associates; the board applauded her selection and national summit participation.
These recognitions were presented as ceremonial items without formal board action recorded.
