The Dunlap Community Unit School District #323 Board of Education on April 16 approved a set of routine financial and personnel items, including payment of the district's March bills totaling $5,108,179.21.
On a motion by Theresa Holshouser and seconded by Tim Wagenbach, the board voted unanimously to approve the bill list and related treasurer and investment reports for March 2025.
The board also approved a resolution regarding a property tax appeal after a motion by Steve Hodel, seconded by Andrew Tyra. The roll call vote recorded Holshouser, Tyra, Wisdom and Hodel in favor and Tim Wagenbach opposed; Tom Feldman abstained. Wagenbach requested a follow-up report on outcomes of property tax appeals; Superintendent Dr. Dearman said he will provide that report.
Other approved items included a sponsorship contract with Fortress Bank, moved by Mike Wisdom and seconded by Tom Feldman, and an 8th-grade trip to Washington, D.C., moved by Andrew Tyra and seconded by Mike Wisdom; both motions passed on unanimous roll call votes.
Earlier in the meeting the board adopted the consent agenda (which included approval of March 12 open- and closed-session minutes and the 2025—6/2026 meeting schedule) on a single motion moved by Holshouser and seconded by Wisdom. After returning from a closed session called to discuss personnel, student disciplinary issues, minutes review, property matters, security and litigation, the board approved the Human Resources consent agenda, authorizing a slate of new hires, separations and one retirement.
The meeting closed at 7:02 p.m.
