County Administrator Scott O. Arneson brought a Wacouta Township request to the board seeking a letter of support for a grant to advance the Wacouta Trail. Commissioner Anderson moved, and Commissioner Greseth seconded, a motion to approve the letter of support; that motion carried 4-0.
During the sheriff's portion of the meeting, Sheriff Kelly introduced Deputy Tidemann to the board. Deputy Tidemann gave a brief overview of the "Introduction to Law Enforcement" course he participates in at Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools; the remarks were delivered as part of the sheriff's annual report and no action was taken on the item.
The board also approved county claims in the total amount of $1,958,342.50 across funds: General Revenue $931,974.04; Public Works $765,680.10; Human Services $18,632.21; Capital Equipment $237,641.32; Waste Management $4,402.51; Settlement $12.32. The motion to approve claims was moved by Commissioner Anderson, seconded by Commissioner Flanders, and carried 4-0.
With routine business completed, Commissioner Flanders moved to adjourn; Commissioner Anderson seconded and the board voted to adjourn the March 17 meeting, with the motion carrying 4-0.
