Webster County approves benefit renewal, staff wage adjustments and coordinator appointments

The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved several personnel, benefit and appointment items on April 23, 2024.
Per the consent agenda, the board accepted Delta Dental of Iowa’s renewal rates for the county voluntary employee dental insurance plan for the July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025 plan year; the renewal includes a 5.0% employee premium rate increase. The board also approved annual step increases and certification-related wage adjustments: Communications Dispatcher Josi Pahl from $20.74/hour to $21.26/hour (effective May 1, 2024); Communications Dispatcher Nichole Gidel from $19.70/hour to $20.74/hour (effective March 17, 2024) following completion of dispatcher certification; and Auditor Office clerk Nichole Simon from $19.16/hour to $20.62/hour (effective May 15, 2024), as recommended by county officials.
The board also approved appointing Ted Vaughn, the Human Resources Director, as the county’s ADA Coordinator and Jamie Johll, the County Engineer, as the Title VI Coordinator. Motions carried unanimously as part of the consent agenda.
