Chair Gail Shoret read the submission into the public record: "We could not go into these businesses. The site is inaccessible to persons with disabilities," the comment said, noting curb heights of six to eight inches and parking spaces set far from entrances.
Commission members discussed the complaint and whether it stemmed from construction activity; one participant said contractors on site were aware of noncompliance and working to address it. The commission determined the complaint should be referred to local enforcement and agreed to pass it on to the constable for follow-up and to coordinate with town staff.
The commission did not take a formal vote on remediation at the meeting but recorded that the item will be forwarded to the constable and town staff for investigation. Commissioners noted they will keep a record of the complaint and ask the relevant town departments to report back on progress.
