Committee moves pay increase for Board of Equalization and Kayak Point playground change order to April 15 consent agenda

Debbie Mock, council staff, presented two action items to the Snohomish County Planning and Community Development Committee on April 7 and requested both be placed on the April 15 General Legislative Session (GLS) consent agenda for consideration.
The first, proposed motion 26-137, would increase compensation for Board of Equalization members by $50. The motion proposes a new rate of $200 a day for each day of attendance at meetings or required training sessions exceeding five hours, and $150 for attendance at meetings or training sessions shorter than five hours. Mock cited the authority in the record as SEC 2.76.030.
The second, proposed motion 26-147, would authorize the County Executive to execute change order #2 to contract PW25-0495SB with OMA Construction for playground surfacing at Kayak Point. The change order adds $369,972.25 to the contract for a new total of $4,290,385.69 (plus applicable sales tax). Mock said council approval is required because of the cumulative size of change orders to the project.
The committee had no objections and the chair placed both items on the April 15 GLS consent agenda. No vote on either measure was taken at the April 7 meeting; both were referred for formal consideration at GLS.
