Sioux City schools OK E‑Rate applications to cover internet, network switches and backup power

For Category 2 Phase 3 the project total is $691,190 with E‑Rate covering $587,511 (approximately 85%) and a district share of $103,678.51. The board also approved a request to fund uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for $41,824.02 with an estimated $35,550.42 covered by E‑Rate.
A board member thanked staff for applying, noting the district would face a “huge hole” in the budget without the grants. All three E‑Rate applications were approved by unanimous vote.
