During the April 16 session, the Richland County Board of Commissioners handled several routine administrative items and personnel matters. The clerk asked for a motion to certify the April 14 record of proceedings (a minor typographical correction was noted); the board moved, seconded and approved the certification.
The board also approved requisitions, weekly transfers and additional appropriation requests by motion and recorded votes. Commissioners accepted the resignation of a job and family services employee with an effective last day of Friday or earlier by management discretion.
The board recessed to an executive session at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the discipline of a public employee. After returning at 10:18 a.m., the board voted on two post‑session personnel actions: a one‑day suspension for a job and family services employee for a third violation of the sick leave policy, and separation of a probationary employee for performance effective immediately; both motions were seconded and recorded as approved.
With no further business, the board recessed and later adjourned the day's session at 11:06 a.m.
