"Shortly thereafter, the City of Bonney Lake deployed a team of six public works in place for two days," Bowman told the Bonney Lake City Council during public comment. She said crews worked alongside Sumner staff to install and fill more than 1,500 feet of Hesco sand barrier walls and that Bonney Lake loaned an 8-inch pump to relieve overwhelmed stormwater systems.
Bowman named the Bonney Lake public works employees who helped and said their work protected several warehouses from floodwaters. She described the response as a partnership and said Sumner stands ready to return the favor if needed.
The remarks were delivered during the council's public-comment period and drew brief expressions of appreciation from Bonney Lake officials. No formal council action followed; the comment served as public recognition of intercity mutual aid during an emergency.
