"The influent wet well is the first point at which the raw wastewater enters the wastewater treatment plant and houses three large influent pumps, one of which is currently out of service," project staff said, arguing the work is necessary to extend service life and reduce risk of system failure.
Staff said the project was advertised for bid under applicable procurement rules, received five bidders and that Robins Incorporated was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Construction was described as scheduled to begin around July 1, 2026, with final completion scheduled for Nov. 12, 2026. Staff also reported that a supplemental budget amendment will be required to adjust the 2026 budget to the revised project total.
A council member moved to award the contract and to authorize the city manager to execute the necessary documents. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the clerk recorded the motion as carried.
