A staff presenter provided enrollment counts for Oct. 17: K–5 enrollment 647 (down 10 from last year), middle school 326 (down 4), and high school 399 (up 5), for a total of 1,372 students, nine fewer than at the same point last year. The presenter said principals held parent‑teacher conferences and staff provided parents with first-quarter benchmark results and access to the PowerSchool parent portal so families can view attendance and grades.
The presenter described a joint safety campaign with local law enforcement — a "report, don't repost" initiative developed from Department of Homeland Security guidance — asking students to tell a responsible adult or law enforcement rather than spreading potential threats online, which the presenter said uses up law-enforcement and administrative resources.
On facilities, the presenter said contractors would use fall break to complete work on cafeteria rooftop units and kitchen hoods and that a new roof is near completion. The board was told the district has contracted with FTM for a football field project, the site plan was approved, and the contractor may begin moving dirt once permits and the first construction meeting are completed.
Board members did not take additional action during the report but asked staff to follow up on construction timelines and to bring cost figures and planning details when those are available.
