The Beachside Redevelopment Board on April 8 elected new leadership after outgoing chair Amy Pyle said she would step aside.
Pyle said she did not want to serve another term and nominated Tom Caffrey for chair. The board seconded the nomination and approved the selection unanimously by voice vote. The board then nominated and unanimously approved Laura Murphy as vice chair; Murphy will assume vice‑chair duties when the chair transitions to Caffrey.
Pyle said she had served one year as chair and would like to "pass the baton" to allow another board member to lead. The board completed the procedural elections and moved on to the agenda’s redevelopment items.
Next steps: leadership transition to take effect immediately; the new chair will preside over subsequent meetings and agenda items.
