Rockcastle County Fiscal Court voted April 21 to sign a County Road Aid agreement for $1,356,863.59 for fiscal year 2026 and approved a matching resolution, both by unanimous vote.
The special called session also authorized Jones Excavating, under the Kentucky Master Agreement, to proceed with repairs on Hammonds Fork Road with an estimated cost of more than $400,000. Magistrate Thacker made the motion and Magistrate McGuire seconded; all magistrates voted aye. The court discussed flood damage to Hammonds Fork, Marler Hollow and numerous other roads and ordered a cost‑saving elliptical (pipe) for Marler Hollow Road from Benge Farm Supply.
At the April 8 meeting the court had declared a local emergency after recent flooding (declaration signed April 9) and asked residents to report property damage to the EMA office so the county could pursue individual assistance from the state if thresholds are met. On April 21 the court also approved a cash transfer of $10,864.81 from federal funds to the Road Fund to cover FEMA DR4848 expenses.
Magistrates recorded the road aid approval and repair authorization as part of the county's post‑flood recovery and routine capital planning; specific construction schedules and contract numbers were not recorded in the public minutes and may be provided by staff in subsequent reports.
