Robert Earl, a bus driver and resident, told the council the stretch of Industrial Road by Columbia Middle School has eroded and narrowed near the railroad crossing, creating a hazard for buses and other large vehicles. He said potholes and shoulder deterioration are making turns difficult and warned a bus could eventually tip if conditions continue. Public works staff agreed to inspect the segment and said pothole patching is possible now, while a full resurfacing would require budgeting in the next fiscal year.
Earl also reported waiting long periods at the Main Street north‑south signal late at night and said timing felt skewed toward the east‑west movement. Staff said they would review signal timing and coordinate with the public works director. The council thanked him and noted rail‑crossing repairs previously required negotiation with the railroad.
