Lyon County Recorder reports stable revenues, warns of upcoming recording fee increase

Lyon County Recorder Amie Griesse presented the Recorder’s quarterly report and told the Board that revenues for the current quarter are comparable to the same period last year. Griesse described a new notification system being implemented by the Recorder’s Association intended to help prevent property fraud.
Griesse also informed the Board that fees for recording vital records will increase effective July 1, 2026, and she said the county will not retain any portion of that fee increase. The Board later approved the quarterly reports (motion by Birkey, second by Altena).
Auditor Sara Sprock reported that the Sheriff’s quarterly report had not been submitted and will be placed on the next meeting agenda.
No additional fee-setting action or county revenue appropriation was taken at the meeting; the Recorder’s remarks were informational and the Board acknowledged receipt of the quarterly reports.
