The Montour County full board approved a set of routine items Feb. 12, including a contract extension, grant funding, appointments and personnel actions.
The board approved a three-year contract extension with Zito Business for telephone services at a fixed fee of $1,041.75 over the course of the agreement. The minutes record the fee but do not specify whether the amount is annual, monthly or a total contract sum.
A $25,000 Tourism Fund grant was approved to provide local match funding for Sunnybrook Park to install accessible walkways. The board also appointed Martin Friday to a two-year unexpired term as Conservation District Director, reappointed William Betz and Jack Gerst to five-year Geisinger Authority terms, and appointed Danville Borough Police Chief Greg Watson to the Montour County Children & Youth Advisory Board.
The board affirmed hiring Maverick Hughes as Deputy Prothonotary effective Feb. 2 at a stated salary of $23,000. Members voted to draft a letter of support for Danville Borough’s DCNR Motorized and Non-Motorized Trail Funding grant to purchase an RC mower for the North Branch Trail and levee system. The board then approved payment of listed bills across multiple funds, as read into the record.
