Council approves amendment to development agreement for Pillars of Hermantown senior living

The Hermantown City Council approved a first amendment to the development agreement and business subsidy agreement among the city, the Hermantown Economic Development Authority and KTJ 360 LLC related to the Pillars of Hermantown senior living project.
Staff (Mister Johnson) said the amendment removes language requiring a 30-foot trail easement along the western and northerly property lines for the project parcels and, instead, accepts a $50,000 escrow from the developer (KTJ 360 LLC) to pay for a trail stub that would link the city's trail system north onto Maple Grove Road.
Council approved the amendment by roll call; staff said the escrow will be used to contract construction of the trail stub adjacent to the developer's property.
