The Hermantown City Council approved Resolution 2025-131 to approve a paid family and medical leave (PFML) carrier and directed staff to proceed with the recommended proposal.
Mister Mulder said staff reviewed two proposals and recommended the option before the council; he asked staff to solicit bids and to bring follow-up detail for benefits and reporting. Staff indicated a premium-cost sharing approach of approximately 50% city and 50% employee. "We're recommending the proposal in front of you," Mulder said, adding staff would arrange a presentation from Turgent Associates to explain benefits and onboarding for employees.
Council requested additional implementation detail, and staff agreed to bring a fuller explanation and rate/benefit breakdown at a subsequent meeting. The resolution was approved by roll call.
