Stilwell approves battalion chief position, fire captain appointment and six probationary firefighters

The Stilwell City Council, after an executive session on personnel and legal matters, took several personnel actions affecting the city’s fire services on June 2.
The council accepted the resignation of Jaxon Thomlinson effective May 29, 2025. It approved creation of a Battalion Chief position to be filled by Charly Coombs effective July 1, 2025, with a recommended annual stipend of $3,600 under the same arrangement used for current fire captains. The council appointed Logan Duggar as Fire Captain effective June 2, 2025.
Council also approved six probationary members for the Stilwell Volunteer Fire Department: Nathanial Glass, Brian Ruben, Isiah Castro, Dustin Wolfe, Jose Sam and Jose Perez. All actions were moved, seconded and recorded as carried by the members present following the return from executive session; the minutes record that items 6–10 were discussed in executive session and that no further action besides the recorded personnel decisions was taken.
The minutes do not provide detailed job descriptions for the Battalion Chief stipend, nor do they include employment history for the named individuals. The city clerk recorded the effective dates and the council attested the actions in the meeting minutes.
