The Stilwell City Council approved contracts and capital purchases on July 7, including Safe Routes to School sidewalk work and equipment for city facilities.
Council approved a $24,500 contract with Lance Williams to pour concrete for the Safe Routes to School sidewalk in front of the Adair County Courthouse, and a $63,000 contract with Case Eubanks to complete the Safe Routes sidewalk on Olive Street from Sixth Street to Second Street. The Case Eubanks contract included a requested $2,500 budget adjustment to Fund 90-12-660000. Both contracts passed on unanimous 5-0 votes.
Separately, the consent agenda included several equipment and service purchases that the council approved as a block: an electrical transformer for the Carson Park press box not to exceed $40,000; purchase of a 2025 John Deere Gator XUV 845M for $21,699 for park operations; a professional tire changer for $13,750 to be distributed across three departments; and a pest-control contract for city facilities for $8,040 annually. The consent agenda motion was approved 5-0.
Council materials show the Safe Routes contracts will be funded from the Federal Safe Routes grant (listed as Federal Grant One) and related street department contractual services accounts. No public comment on these items was recorded in the minutes. The motions were moved and seconded on the record and passed with recorded roll-call votes.
The contracts will proceed to execution by city staff per the authorized funding sources and the awarded contractors.
