The Olive Branch Planning Commission recommended approval of a final plat that would create a single 5.46-acre lot for Harvest Church of DeSoto at the northeast corner of Old Polk Lane and Old Goodman Road (12050 Old Goodman Road).
Planning Department staff said the lot is in an AR (agricultural residential) zoning district and that the plat meets zoning and subdivision regulations. Staff noted utilities (water, sewer, gas, electricity) are present on the property, that no variances or waivers were requested, and that no street improvements or public-improvement bond are required at this time. “The final plat must be recorded before a building permit may be issued for any renovations of the building and or other development on the proposed lot,” staff told the commission.
Greg Smith of Civil Inc Engineering appeared for the applicant and said he had nothing substantive to add to staff’s presentation but was available to answer questions. Staff recommended approval subject to five conditions; staff emphasized that the recorded final plat is a prerequisite to building permits for renovation or development.
Mr. Stratner moved to approve the final plat for Harvest Church of DeSoto subject to staff conditions; Mr. Long seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote with no opposition. The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Aldermen, and the final plat must be recorded before issuance of building permits for any future renovations.
