Factoryville council conditionally votes to remove shared recycling trailer; feral-cat spay/neuter update given

The Factoryville Borough Council voted on Jan. 5 to eliminate the shared recycling trailer permanently if Clinton Township votes to do the same; the trailer will remain in place for 30 days while Clinton Township considers a similar action.
Rebecca Nelson reported ongoing problems with residents dumping trash and non-recyclables into the borough’s recycling container. The council discussed removing the trailer and reminding residents they can use the Wyoming County Recycling Center; Elena O’Connor moved to eliminate the trailer conditional on Clinton Township’s vote, Gregg Yunko seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
On a separate neighborhood issue, Nelson briefed the council on feral cats on Gardner Street. Volunteer Deb Mendelsohn has appointments through Feb. 11 for spay/neuter services and can deliver two cats per week thereafter; she may need assistance returning cats from Plains due to work schedule constraints. The council did not take additional action on animal control at the meeting.
