Mayor Lou Jasikoff told the Factoryville Borough Council on March 11 that Tunkhannock Ambulance responded to 10 calls in February and reported an about‑three‑minute 'out‑the‑door' time. The ambulance service will host a table at Christy Mathewson Day to help with fundraising and outreach.
Council approved a motion to provide a letter of support for Tunkhannock Ambulance’s grant application, which the mayor said could be for up to $500,000. Colin Fricke seconded the motion; the council recorded the vote as unanimous.
The mayor also reported limited collections from the magistrate’s office and parking fines for the period and praised a First Friday Bluegrass event at a local church. The letter of support is intended to assist the ambulance service’s funding application; council did not attach conditions or funding commitments at the March 11 meeting.
