Manager Shannon Cantner described staff work on audits and community programs and recommended dates and rental logistics for a two‑day junk‑removal and yard‑sale event; Councilor Elena O'Connor moved to approve the proposed weekend options (May 1–2 or May 8–9) and to rent a dumpster from Keystone Container under last year’s terms; the motion carried unanimously.
Council also approved multiple equipment purchases for the borough’s public‑works needs: 15 flag poles for a total of $150, a trailer to transport the generator for $750, and a grapple bucket for the skid steer priced at $2,600. Cantner and councilors said the purchases support upcoming projects, including sewer work and park maintenance.
On administrative and finance items, council authorized ordering two new minute books (estimated $125–$140 each) because current records space is nearly full, and agreed to repay a $570 pension-audit overpayment noted in audit work dating to 2018. The council voted to pay the month’s bills, which included $1,929.28 to Cargill for salt and $569.70 to the Pennsylvania Auditor General for late‑payment interest.
All motions described above were seconded and recorded as passing by unanimous voice vote. Councilors indicated that the purchases and event approvals are intended to support spring maintenance and community programming.
