At its Feb. 16 meeting the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners handled several routine items and a nonprofit property request.
The board reappointed Sherry McGregor to the Tourism Development Authority for a four‑year term and approved the Probation and Parole office lease renewal; both motions passed unanimously. Commissioners also approved a revision to the Cherokee County Technology Use Policy (Section 4.13) related to mobile device management.
Jackie Mueller of the Cherokee County Pregnancy and Parenting Center asked the board to donate the old Andrews Health Department building to the Center. The board took no action on the request and directed the county attorney to research the public‑purpose doctrine and report back at the next meeting. The minutes record no formal vote on the donation request.
The board also approved routine tax releases, tax refunds and the NCVTS refund report as submitted.
