Board approves i-Ready pilot, staffing actions and several routine consent items

The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education approved a slate of consent items at its Dec. 8 meeting, including an i-Ready diagnostic and personalized learning pilot for grades K–8 with Curriculum Associates, LLC. The i-Ready agreement covers benchmark and diagnostic assessments, student learning content, and professional development to support data-driven instruction (motion moved by John Croisant; seconded by Calvin Moniz; vote 7-0).
Also approved under consent were routine field trips, the renewal of the SchoolMint enrollment and application platform, visual inspection cost warrants to several counties, sanctioning of booster clubs and PTAs for the 2025–26 fiscal year, and the district's encumbrance and change-order report. The board approved routine staffing items including creates/deletes and a list of certified adjunct teachers for the 2025–26 year.
Superintendent Johnson and staff presented K–5 and 6–8 literacy goal-monitoring reports focused on multilingual learner English proficiency growth; the board accepted receipt of those reports (moved John Croisant; second Calvin Moniz; vote 7-0). Two members of the public spoke during the action-agenda public comment period about support-staff compensation and OSTP scores; those comments were recorded in the minutes but did not result in immediate board action.
The meeting packet listed multiple consent attachments (encumbrance reports, transfer capacity reports to comply with HB 3386 and SB 783, and facility rental for 2026 commencements at ORU Mabee Center). The board carried the consent items in a single consent vote.
