Tulsa School Board unanimously calls April 7, 2026 bond election for $609 million package

The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Dec. 16 to call an April 7, 2026 election that would ask district voters to approve bonds totaling $609,000,000 for schools across the district.
The vote approved a resolution to place four propositions on the ballot. Board President Susan Lamkin presided over the special meeting at the Charles C. Mason Education Service Center. During the meeting the superintendent and district staff summarized community and staff feedback that informed the bond package priorities before the board considered the resolution.
Under the resolution approved by the board, Proposition No. 1 would authorize $200,985,000 to purchase textbooks, library books, electronic media content and software subscriptions and to provide funds for early childhood programs, Montessori, STEM labs, post-secondary readiness, fine arts and athletics, including construction, equipping, repairs, remodeling and related furniture and equipment. Proposition No. 2 would authorize $276,000,000 for repair, remodeling, construction and equipping of school buildings and related site improvements. Proposition No. 3 would authorize $104,785,000 for technology equipment, including computer hardware and software and web-based subscriptions, and for remodeling to accommodate that equipment. Proposition No. 4 would authorize $27,230,000 for transportation equipment. The resolution also authorizes levying and collecting an annual tax to pay principal and interest on the bonds if approved by voters.
Calvin Moniz moved to adopt the resolution and John Croisant seconded the motion. The board recorded an affirmative vote from Stacey Woolley, E'Lena Ashley, John Croisant, Susan Lamkin, Kyra Carby, Calvin Moniz and Sarah Smith; the motion carried 7-0.
The resolution calls the election for April 7, 2026. The board recessed briefly at 6:52 p.m. and reconvened at 6:57 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m. The board's minutes record that notice of the meeting was provided to the Tulsa County Clerk and posted at the district office and online pursuant to Title 25 O.S. § 311 (A)(5) and (A)(9).
