The Tulsa Public Schools Board approved a broad consent agenda on Nov. 17 that bundled personnel, procurement, program, and operational approvals into a single motion moved by John Croisant and seconded by Calvin Moniz. The motion carried 7-0.
Key items in the consent package included:
- Approval of routine field trips and adherence to Board Policy 3314 for out-of-state student travel. - An amendment to the district internship program to include additional participating organizations for junior and senior high students: Greenwood Cultural Center, One Hope Tulsa, Planned Parenthood/Peoria Health Center, and TheZone Academy/TOUCH Tulsa. The amendment clarifies these organizations are authorized to provide career exploration and career-related experiences tied to students’ ICAPs (Individual Career Academic Plans). - Financial and procurement items such as the New Encumbrance & Change Orders report and an amendment to increase purchases from Hagar Restaurant Equipment. - A contract award to Shoes For Crews North America LLC for slip-resistant and protective footwear for district employees. - Sanctioning of numerous booster clubs and PTAs/PTOs/PTSAs for the 2025–26 fiscal year, listed in board materials. - Talent management approvals, adjunct teacher appointments, renewal of Western Governors University placement agreements, and ratification of the TCTA Master Contract (see separate article). - Approvals for tree maintenance at Carver Middle School (Up With Trees), a MOU with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation for a Summer EBT program (Summer 2026), and procurement of Ironclad contract management packets.
The consent agenda aggregated many routine governance actions; several items (internship amendment, booster club sanctioning, procurement awards) contained details recorded in the board packet rather than read aloud during the meeting.
