Ephrata Borough Council authorized purchase of three Public Works vehicles during the March 9 meeting: a 2026 International dump truck (approximately $215,997, including upfitting and accessories), a 2026 Ford F-250 4x4 utility-bed pickup (approximately $80,738, including upfitting and warranty) and a 2026 Ford F-350 4x4 flatbed pickup (approximately $90,171, including upfitting). Kory Musser moved the motions to authorize the purchases and the motions carried unanimously.
Staff stated each purchase is within the 2026 budget for Public Works: the dump truck within a $225,000 budget line, the F-250 within an $88,000 budget and the F-350 within a $95,000 budget. Equipment details cited in committee materials include upfitting vendors procured via Costars contracts (e.g., A&H Equipment, Ascendance Truck Center, E.M. Kutz, and New Holland Auto Group) and items such as plows, salt spreaders, cameras, pre-wet tanks and warranties.
Council approved authorizing the Borough President and Borough Manager to execute procurement paperwork, and staff will receive delivery in 2026 as vendors schedule production and upfitting. The motions were recorded as unanimous votes.
