Central Valley SD board approves Taylor Braden as Todd Lane Elementary principal; OKs special‑education coordinator

The Central Valley SD Board of Education on April 16 approved personnel actions that include naming Taylor Braden principal of Todd Lane Elementary and appointing a new special‑education coordinator.

The board voted to approve Taylor Braden as Todd Lane Elementary principal at an annual salary of $102,500 under the terms of an Act 93 agreement, effective July 1, 2026. "Number 2, to approve Taylor Braden as the Todd Lane Elementary principal at a salary of $102,500," said the presenter of the personnel slate during the meeting, and the motion was moved and carried.

The board also approved the appointment of Corey Hellman as special‑education coordinator at an annual salary of $75,000 on a 10‑month term, also under an Act 93 agreement, effective July 1, 2026. The personnel slate included acceptance of the resignation of paraprofessional Kay English effective March 30, 2026.

Committee members and staff congratulated Braden during board comments. "She's done a wonderful job as acting principal," said a committee member, who added that the board and staff are looking forward to working with her in the longer term.

These personnel actions were presented as part of the board's personnel agenda; motions were moved, seconded and carried on the record. The appointments and resignations will take effect on the dates specified in the personnel listings and are recorded in the attachments to the minutes.

The board did not discuss additional details about recruitment for other open positions during this session. The meeting proceeded to other agenda items following the personnel approvals.
