Beardstown council rejects proposed zoning changes on accessory structures

Council then considered a motion by Alderperson Ron Culves, seconded by Chris Baer, to adopt the zoning amendment; that motion failed on a 5-3 roll call (yea: Chris Baer, Ron Culves, Dawn Seward; no: Lisa Buhlig, Mary Davis, Eric Harbin, Keith Schramm; Alderperson Shawn Taylor absent).
Following the vote, council members discussed next steps and Alderperson Culves scheduled a committee meeting for May 28, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to continue consideration of the proposed changes.
