The Hoke County Schools board chair asked for and moved approval of the personnel report and the board approved it by voice vote. "Can I get a motion to approve the personnel report?" the chair asked, then said, "I'll make a motion to approve the personnel." After a second, the chair called for the ayes and recorded the approval.
The chair took a moment before adjourning to recommend that members of the finance committee consider attending a one-day finance training scheduled for June. The chair said the training "would be very beneficial" and noted that the board's current trainings come from outside sources, adding that attendance is voluntary rather than mandatory.
Following that suggestion, the chair moved to adjourn. After a second and a voice vote in which ayes were recorded, the meeting was adjourned.
