Historic district moves to develop design guidelines; preservationist to assess Presbyterian Church steeple

A commission member said the commission will begin developing design guidelines and will seek quotes from Preservation Forward and other firms to prepare a draft guideline document. The member said, “I'm gonna work on getting some quotes…starting to look into preparing that document,” and framed the work as a way to provide more consistent guidance for future projects in the historic district.
Members also noted that Jessica Flores of Preservation Forward met with the commission during a recent tour of the Presbyterian Church and is preparing an assessment report on the church steeple, which staff said will outline what lies ahead for any needed conservation or repair work. The commission agreed to await the assessment and to include guideline development as an item for future agendas.
