Commission approves consent agenda including payroll, appropriations and travel requests

During its Feb. 18 formal session the Montgomery County Commission unanimously approved numerous routine but substantive items on the consent agenda: audited accounts payable and payroll disbursements, miscellaneous appropriations to county agencies and education, appropriations from designated revenue, and a comprehensive group of travel and training requests.
Finance materials in the meeting packet showed accounts payable check runs (1-28-2025 and 2-7-2025) totaling $2,051,943.61 combined, and payroll disbursements for the pay date 2-7-2025 totaling $2,553,631.01 (payroll checks, direct deposits and federal deposits documented in the packet). Commissioners moved and seconded the consent items (motions recorded on the minutes) and carried all by unanimous votes.
The packet included detailed travel/training requests for departments including Community Corrections, Detention, Engineering, Probate, and the Sheriff’s Office with traveler names, destinations, dates and estimated costs. Commissioners did not debate individual travel requests in the open minutes; they approved the packaged requests as part of the consent items.
Other consent actions recorded in the packet include allocations to community organizations and educational recipients listed by program; specific appropriation amounts by recipient are in the agenda materials. The commission adjourned at 10:35 a.m.
