The Montgomery County Commission voted unanimously Feb. 18 to approve Old Home Place Plat No. 1, a residential subdivision at Old McGehee Road and Butler Mill Road. Vice Chairman Carmen Moore Zeigler moved to approve the plat; Commissioner Daniel Harris Jr. seconded and the motion carried.
County Engineer George C. Speake submitted a memorandum certifying that the plat met county regulations under Section 11-24-2(b), Code of Alabama 1975, and recommended approval. The memo listed EverOak, LLC as the owner/developer and noted no county financial impact. Speake’s packet included the plat, adjoining property owners, and utility notifications required by state code.
The commission did not take further action on conditions or financial commitments at the meeting; Chairman Doug Singleton requested the developer provide any additional documentation requested by county staff. The approval was recorded as a routine regulatory action; recordation and notice requirements under the cited code section remain the applicant’s responsibility.
