Middletown honors longtime public‑works and parks staff at board meeting

Middletown Township used its Feb. 9 Board of Supervisors meeting to honor two longtime employees: William Whitaker, who served 46 years in Public Works, and Paul Capara, director of Parks & Recreation with nearly 20 years of service.
Public Works staff and the department director presented a plaque to Whitaker and recounted his institutional knowledge of the township’s road network. Colleagues, former township manager Stephanie Tioli Kools and Parks & Rec staff played a short video and offered remarks about Capara’s leadership, community relationships and program development, citing initiatives such as the beer‑garden pilot and stronger volunteer engagement.
Multiple residents and representatives of the township youth panel offered tributes. The board and staff closed the recognition with photographs and a reception.
