The proposal includes splitting early August PD into separate elementary and secondary days, offering virtual conference-style learning on select dates with protected time for grading and planning, and protecting closeout and summer leadership academy dates for three years. Staff said the changes aim to protect district investments in PLCs, high-impact instruction, textbook implementation and special-population supports.
Chair moved to forward the calendar updates to the full board with a recommendation to approve; the committee approved the motion by voice vote and the calendar changes will be considered by the full board.
