Greeley County approves two ALPR (Flock) cameras through Region 26 and an NDOT agreement for placement on state highways

Sheriff Paul Deaver advised the board that the Homeland Security award would allow Greeley County to receive up to two Flock cameras; the board authorized acquisition and payment through Region 26, noting an estimated cost of $3,768.70 per camera to be paid from the general fund upon invoice.
At the Aug. 12 meeting Region 26 Director Alma Beland presented a resolution authorizing execution of an agreement with the Nebraska Department of Transportation for installation and operation of ALPR equipment on state highways. The board approved Resolution 2025‑11 and the specific NDOT/County/Sheriff agreement. The minutes identify the camera locations as the east side of Hwy 281 near the Hwy 22 junction at Wolbach and the west side of Hwy 281 at the Hwy 91 junction north of Greeley.
The board also approved continued county participation in the Region 26 Council (Resolution 2025‑12). County officials said the sheriff’s office will receive training and the county will coordinate installation and maintenance with NDOT and Region 26. No vote totals or written opposition to the agreement were recorded in the minutes.
