Greeley County approves interlocal agreement with Howard County to pursue federal BUILD bridge grant

The Greeley County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 13 to approve an interlocal cooperative agreement with Howard County to jointly apply for a federal BUILD grouped bridge grant to replace Structure No. C003904805P on Davis Creek Road.
Under the agreement presented by Highway Superintendent Lance Harter, Howard County will act as lead agency: coordinating preparation and submittal of the BUILD grant application, serving as the primary point of contact with the Federal Highway Administration and executing any grant agreement with FHWA if the application is successful. Greeley County agreed to provide relevant bridge data, cost estimates and project justification materials, assist in identifying any required local match and participate in decisions on project phasing, consultant selection and implementation.
Commissioner Dennis Wadsworth moved to approve the interlocal agreement and Commissioner Joe Leslie seconded; the roll-call vote recorded all yes. The county clerk will forward the signed interlocal agreement to Howard County for its final approval. Chairman Jordan Foltz also shared an NDOT survey link and asked residents to complete a brief online survey to support the BUILD application.
