A staff presenter (Mister Mathias) told the board the proposed-final and final budget adoption timing must respect a 30‑day requirement in the school code. He explained that placing the final adoption on the first meeting of the month (rather than the third Wednesday) avoids a 28‑day gap between proposed-final and final adoption, so the board plans to put the proposed final budget on the next meeting’s agenda to meet the timing requirement. Mathias also said administrators are preparing the preliminary budget presentations and that proposed reductions previously shared with the board remain unchanged.
Board members were told the final budget adoption will be on the next meeting’s agenda and that budget work will continue until the June final adoption.
