Freeport council approves routine budget, scheduling and operational items including funding payment, pool hours and event dates

The City of Freeport City Council approved several routine administrative and operational items during its April 14 meeting.

Finance staff (Speaker 9) requested a budget amendment to record and pay a county invoice for the Bear Creek Bridal replacement, work the finance presenter said was completed in 2024 but not previously billed; the council approved the budget amendment to enable payment this fiscal year. The transcript did not record a dollar amount for that invoice.

Parks staff (Speaker 10) reported the community pool will open on Memorial Day weekend and asked the council to approve hours for publication; the council approved posting the schedule on the city's website.

Sewer staff (Speaker 11) requested authorization for three employees to attend fats, oil and grease management training in Sarasota. The transcript records that lodging will be approximately $1,881 for three nights; the meeting audio provided a registration fee amount that was not clearly recorded in the transcript. The council approved the travel and training expenditure.
