Mayor Shiloh Syrett told the council that Superintendent Ireland retired at the end of March and that Allana Olbrich will serve as interim superintendent. The mayor also announced a community meeting set for May 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the visitor center.
Public works staffer Tanner Wilcock reported plans to install speed bumps and said several local residents offered help; any locals hired to assist would need to complete employee paperwork. Tanner also described operational issues at the Wellness Center, including people wearing muddy shoes and a recent membership suspension; councilors asked staff to bring any future program or sales ideas (for example, selling protein drinks) to a council meeting for formal consideration.
The council added scholarship items and outstanding follow-up items to the April 16 agenda. No executive session was held.
