Chambers County Commissioners voted to proclaim April 2026 as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.
Jo McGinnis, development specialist with Bridgehaven (speaker 8), thanked the court and community partners for supporting Bridgehaven’s mission to protect children. Elizabeth Estrada (speaker 2), a forensic interviewer and educator at Bridgehaven, also introduced herself and spoke briefly in support of the proclamation. The court moved, seconded and approved the proclamation by voice vote.
Why it matters: The proclamation formally recognizes local child-protection efforts and signals county support for Bridgehaven’s services and partners.
Next steps: Staff will provide any formal proclamation paperwork or media notice as appropriate.
