Chambers County approves two land purchases to advance Chambers Parkway and Kilgore drainage Phase 2

Commissioner Dangley (speaker 12) described a negotiated purchase of approximately 12.584 acres from Angel Brothers Properties LLC for about $664,000; Dangley said the county will receive land appraised at a higher value (estimated in discussion at about $2.5 million worth of land) and that the seller will use part of the payment for site work. The court voted to approve the purchase.
Later in the meeting the court approved item 20.2, authorizing the purchase of about 67.948 acres to further the Chambers Parkway/Gordon Spear Parkway and Kilgore drainage Phase 2 project; the motion carried on voice vote. Commissioners characterized the purchases as strategic for stormwater/drainage infrastructure and road development.
