Residents urge better sidewalks, multimodal connections and more enforcement of e-bike rules

Tammy Kunz, introduced herself as a Keizer resident, and said sidewalks and multiuse connections are in poor condition and that e-bike and scooter speeds present hazards. "All of us have almost been run over by ebikes and scooters," she said, calling for education materials and targeted speed-trailer placement near Goldberg/Noreen.
The residents also said the pedestrian-flag program had supported safety education and voiced concern that removal of flags reduced a community tool. A committee member responded with a staff contact for speed-trailer requests and encouraged submission of specific locations for placement.
Committee members thanked the residents for detailed input, confirmed they will collate neighborhood-association comments and noted several outreach events (a mini ride and bike rodeo) already planned to promote bike-safety education.
The committee did not vote on policy changes during the public comment period; members asked staff and volunteers to follow up on specific requests such as speed-trailer placement and sidewalk maintenance referrals.
