The Nags Head Board of Commissioners on April 15 adopted a resolution asking that the Mid‑Currituck Bridge matter remain active while state economic models and towing options are further evaluated.
The mayor said the county had already adopted a resolution and that Southern Shores requested more time to see if an economic model could make the bridge viable. A motion to adopt the resolution passed by voice vote.
Board members said they wanted to give the project "one more shot" to determine whether funding or operational models could justify moving forward; no new fiscal commitments were made at the meeting.
