The chair said staff recommended awarding a $148,700 contract to Lakeridge Construction LLC to build a new wastewater treatment garage and moved to approve the agreement. The project, the chair said, would be funded from excess funds left over from the original water treatment plant capital project and the interest earned on those funds.
The recommendation matters because it uses previously appropriated capital-project funds rather than new borrowing or a tax increase, the chair said. "The staff recommends Lakeridge Construction as the winning bid at $148,700," the chair stated.
Council members asked one technical question about whether the bid included gutters; the chair explained the gutters would be installed on the east side of the single-pitch (lean-to) roof to carry runoff away from the building. After discussion the council took a roll call and the chair recorded the motion as carried, 4–0.
The contract award authorizes staff to finalize the agreement with Lakeridge Construction LLC and proceed with construction financing using the water-treatment-plant capital project’s remaining funds.
