Council adopts preliminary plat for Isabella Valley subdivision, clearing way for 46 single‑family lots

The City of Socorro on April 16 approved a preliminary plat for Isabella Valley Subdivision (Tract 13, Block 27) to permit 46 single-family residential lots on a property just over 12 acres located at 11764 Socorro Road.
City planner Lorraine Quimito presented the request, noting the property is zoned R-2 (medium density), currently vacant and highlighted on the zoning map. Staff recommended approval and the Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the preliminary plat at its March 17 meeting. The public hearing opened and closed with no speakers.
Quimito described access from Socorro Road and a secondary internal access via Arvia Lane and noted two ponding areas and design sheets provided in the staff packet. With no council questions, the council moved and approved the second reading and adoption of the ordinance to allow the preliminary plat to proceed.
Staff said they would coordinate final platting steps and any required infrastructure or permit conditions.
